Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is made up of Ministers, Business Leaders, and Lay people from all walks of life. They are all non-compensated Christian men and women who are members of Christian Churches/Church of Christ in Florida. Our current Board of Directors are listed below.

Bobby Smith

Bobby Smith, a graduate of Florida Christian College, has been on the ministerial staff at South Daytona Christian Church since 1980. During those years he served as Youth Minister, Associate Minister, and now serves as the Senior Minister. He and Cindy were married in 1981 and have a daughter and son, Tabitha and Jeremy, who are both married. Bobby is a former Trustee of Florida Christian College and serves on the Steering Committee of the Pastors Prayer Gathering in Volusia County.

His favorite verse is Galatians 6:9 (NIV) "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Alan Tison

Alan serves as Director of Advancement at Johnson University Florida, overseeing the external relationships of the university. He travels throughout Florida informing and encouraging friends, churches, and alumni of the ministry of JUFL. Alan holds degrees from Johnson University Florida and Kentucky Christian University. He has served churches in Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. Alan has 3 children, David, Jonathan and Bethany.

His favorite verse is Jeremiah 15:19 (NLT); "If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you!"

Beth Hercules

Beth Hercules is a lifelong learner and educator. She is a passionate advocate for Biblical Higher Education and ministry. For more than 25 years she has been a home educator and private music teacher. Beth and her husband Bill have been married since 1985 and have five children and five grandchildren. Three of their children have been Alexander Christian Foundation recipients, as well as their spouses. The Hercules Family currently serves together at Kissimmee Christian Church in Kissimmee, FL.

Sarah Smith

Sarah Smith always wanted to be a preacher’s wife and her desire was achieved when she married Mike Smith in 1979. She and Mike were part of the first graduating class of Florida Christian College in 1980. After Mike graduated from seminary they began ministering in Florida in 1986. They are currently ministering at South Haven Christian Church in Port Orange, Florida and have been there since 1997. Sarah had the privilege of home schooling their three children, Julia, Amos and Lydia all through school and all three graduated from Florida Christian College. She and Mike have also been blessed with two grandchildren, so far. Sarah is currently working as a driver for Staples.

Her favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Ron Forehand

Ron Forehand serves as the Treasurer of Alexander Christian Foundation. Ron is retired from 30 years of government service and a Bachelors degree with a major in Accounting from University of Central Florida. He has worshipped at Kissimmee Christian Church since 1978 where he is a Deacon and Treasurer. He is married to Myra.

Ron’s favorite verse is 1Peter 3:15 “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

Vaughn Williams

Vaughn has the privilege to serve as a Director of the Alexander Christian Foundation since 1997. Vaughn is a former Trustee at Florida Christian College and he is a retired business owner. Vaughn is married to Mary and they have three daughters and four grandchildren. Vaughn worships at Kissimmee Christian Church, where he serves as and Elder.

His favorite scripture is Isaiah 40:30-31 “Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.”

William "Bill" Owens

William “Bill” Owens is the Vice President of the Allen Morris Company in Orlando and serves as an Elder of First Christian Church of Winter Park. He has served on the Board of Directors for Christian Financial Resources for 18 years and several years as a Director of Alexander Christian Foundation of Florida.  He is married to Dale-Angela Maxey and has two children and two grandchildren.

Theresa Clark

Theresa Clark is the Controller at Clark & Albaugh, LLP, a law firm located in Winter Park, Florida, since 2001. She and her husband, Scott, have five children and five grandchildren. They have been active members of First Christian Church of Winter Park since 2004. Theresa has a passion for missions and has served on the missions committee as treasurer since 2013, as well as serving in numerous ministries throughout the years.

Philippians 4:5-7 “Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made know to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Shawn Grant

Shawn Grant is the Associate Professor of Humanities at Johnson University Florida. He is a graduate of Florida Christian College (B.A. Preaching 2002), Lincoln Christian Seminary (M.A. Church History 2007) and Florida State University (Ph.D Humanities, 2012).  Shawn has taught classes at Florida State University, Chipola College, Tallahassee Community College, and Valencia College. In addition to his academic work, Shan served for many years in located church ministry, most recently as the Lead/Teaching Pastor at Crossbridge Christian Church in Tallahassee, FL.  He currently lives in Orlando, FL with his wife Erica and their two children Jude and Emma. 
 
Shawn’s favorite verse is Matthew 22:37-40, “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Ralph Arruzza

Ralph is a business veteran with over 30 years in the food industry working with CPG companies, including multinationals, private equity groups and family owned.  He is a graduate of Stetson University with a major in Marketing and currently advises early-stage companies and brands on go-to-market strategy, sales, and marketing.  He has been a member of South Daytona Christian Church since childhood and serves as a Deacon and Treasurer as well as a member of the Missions Committee.
